1. Foundations of Medicine (Basic Sciences):
   • This portion of the curriculum is typically completed over five semesters at the RUSM campus in Barbados.
   • It covers basic medical sciences such as anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, and physiology.
2. Clinical Sciences (Clinical Rotations):
   • After completing the basic sciences, students move on to clinical rotations.
   • These rotations usually take place over six semesters and are conducted at affiliated teaching hospitals in the United States.
   • Students gain hands-on experience in various medical specialties, such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, and others.
3. Examinations:
   • Students are required to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 after completing their basic sciences.
   • They must also pass USMLE Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge) and CS (Clinical Skills) before graduating.
4. Residency Match:
   • Graduates of RUSM participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) to secure residency positions in the United States.
   • RUSM provides support and resources to help students prepare for residency applications and interviews.
